Loneliness can be an issue for so many in Cambridgeshire. Care Network strives to combat this. There are many volunteers who are willing to go and support older ones who are home alone. It was great to be able to help them out by conducting an Advanced Excel 2010 training course. What with all the talk about loneliness being a problem it's a very worthy charity.

After having done one Visio 2016 beginners training course in Cambridge for Cambridge county council they asked me back. The wonderful thing about Microsoft Visio is the speed in which you can create complex diagrams. So during the day we did battle with Cross functional flowcharts, Organisation Charts along with creating a floor plan.
Today I visited CPLG (Copyright Promotions Licensing Group) in Hammersmith Broadway. Yes just around the corner! It was the most local course ever. Fantastic! I was training PowerPoint from beginners to intermediate, I don't think that there should be an advanced level to PowerPoint. The company already had numerous template on which to start from, however we took the opportunity to dissect those templates to see how they were built and what could be done to recreate and possible improve on them.
Topics that we covered included:
Training in Birmingham for Smurfit Kappa. This time it was the their offices in Colmore Row at the centre of Birmingham. That being the case I decided to take the train. The Excel training course went well, I had a group in the morning and one in the afternoon. A sort of bite sized introduction into the various data handling aspects of Excel. However upon taking the train home I noticed that my ticket was from Birmingham Moor Street. If you haven't ever taken a train from Moor street before I highly recommend it. The station is a blast from the past, well worth a visit even if you aren't travelling by train.
Predator power is a manufacturer of radio-controlled stump grinding equipment in Reading. So, if you have a garden with a tree stump smack bang in the middle of it and want to grind that stump into nothing, allowing you to get a beautiful lawn. This machines take all of the hard work out of it. Did I mention that the machines are radio controlled? So cool.
Today I was training InDesign and it was great for them to be able to look at their brochure, and to look at different ways in which they could improve. Also looking to the future and the onset of video and interactive elements helping them to make EPUB or PDF brochures that could be downloaded from their website. |
The art of trainingI've seen many things the good the bad and the darn right ugly. Not that perfection in training is anything I've achieved but sometimes a bit of empathy and common sense can make the person you're training feel at ease and aid training. Archives
