Altogether a really great day giving the client confidence to take her first step in creating her database.
Today under the watchful eye of Albert Einstein, I was conducting a 1-2-1 Microsoft Access 2013 beginners training course in Oxford. The lady in question had already developed many spreadsheets in which she had entered a lot of data. She also wanted to take the next step which of course was Microsoft Access. I think that one of the most hardest things to teach in Microsoft Access is understanding the use of relationships. Coupled with this is understanding the various objects that you need to bring together to construct an Access database. But one thing she surely won't forget is the fact that you need to go to the design window to change the various properties of Tables, Forms, Queries and Reports properties.
Altogether a really great day giving the client confidence to take her first step in creating her database.

AT&T at Redditch was the venue today for a beginners HTML training course in Birmingham. AT&T use a content management system with an option to edit the page using HTML. There were a couple of students from extremely different skill levels. One of which had barely touched HTML and the other was rewriting a Cold fusion based site into PHP. So where do you start? Well it turns out that the more advanced user needed some help with CSS. So we included a little bit of that with the course. |
The art of trainingI've seen many things the good the bad and the darn right ugly. Not that perfection in training is anything I've achieved but sometimes a bit of empathy and common sense can make the person you're training feel at ease and aid training. Archives
