Now, back to me! I was asked to deliver some Google Sheets training in Holborn and the business in question was marketing firm Influencer. That being the case I just wanted to mention some of the peculiarities that occurred in their WeWork office space.
I conducted one training session on the 1st October and another on the 25th and I must say the offices were a little different to what I was used to. So here are the biggies:
- The building looked like an old church, in fact I walked past it multiple times before I realised where it was.
- Upon entering I was confronted with an iPad / Camera combo which automatically took my photo and sent it my contact at Influencer. (Pretty Sci-Fi / Star trekkie)??
- I was then encouraged by the receptionist (though I don't know what their purpose in life was as the iPad did all) to help myself to
- Coffee
- Tea
- Biscuits (Including Jammie Dodgers - Yummy)
- Space Invaders
- Ping Pong
- Snooker/Pool
- Numerous other past-times the result being that I almost missed my Influencer contact when she came looking for me phone in hand scrutinising every face for my likeness. Fortunately I had donned a hat and had the remains of a holiday beard.
- The rest was all pretty standard.
- WiFi link to a display screen. (With a serious delay).
- Heating which seemed to have a mind of it's own. (Controlled by the upstairs powers that be).
- Meeting rooms that we're designed for people who don't use laptops. (I mean the amount of time I go into a room that's way too small, has plug points at one end, has an overly huge Video Conferencing system I could go on).
